Every frame, a story waiting to be told

Hi, I'm Raofin

A curious soul with a touch of conscientiousness and a sprinkle of randomness.By trade, I’m a financial professional crunching numbers, but in my spare time, I like to think of myself as a pro photographer, a part-time philosopher, a noob-level musician, and an enthusiastic promoter of Tarifa's Closet. Oh, and when I’m not solving the world’s problems or capturing artsy shots, you’ll probably find me helping out the master chef at Nishi's Kitchen – because someone has to taste-test those mouthwatering dishes and offer a critical review!Let me take you on a little trip down memory lane to some of the happiest and saddest moments of my life. When I was around 7 or 8, I experienced the happiest moment of my life: reuniting with my dog after he'd been missing for an entire week. You can imagine the emotional rollercoaster! On the flip side, a few years later, the saddest moment of my childhood came when we had to part ways with the purest soul in a particular situation. Truly, it was probably the hardest heartbreak I’ve ever experienced.Life, though, has been one big adventure. I’ve traveled far and wide, meeting thousands of people from all walks of life. Every encounter has been an eye-opener, but the best part has been discovering that love and kindness can be found in even the most unexpected places – like uncovering hidden treasures in the hearts of strangers. That’s a journey worth taking. And just when I thought I had life figured out… plot twist! I married my best friend during the pandemic, after a decade of friendship. It’s a story I never saw coming, but I’m so glad it did. Life has a funny way of surprising you when you least expect it.So, that’s me – a curious, multi-faceted, and occasionally chaotic individual, enjoying the ride called life. Let’s see where this next chapter takes me.

Audiophile headphone Review

Audeze LCD-2 fazor vs Hifiman ANANDA-StealthTL;DR: Hifiman ANANDA-Stealth is better almost in every way than the Audeze LCD-2 (fazor)Long Story:
About a month ago, I was deliberating between the Audeze LCD-2 and the Hifiman ANANDA-Stealth. I posted in this group seeking advice and opinions. First and foremost, thank you very much to everyone who responded and provided valuable advice.
In the end, I decided to purchase both headphones. Now that I have spent a decent amount of time with these two, I want to share my expectations and experiences. This information could be helpful in the future for anyone in the same situation as I was, especially those considering venturing into the realm of open-back headphones.
Aesthetics: Obviously, this is a subjective opinion - I consider the LCD-2, especially the Bamboo version, a piece of art. While I never liked the look of the ANANDA online, in person, it's not that bad, especially the feel and look of the aluminum side grill. The clear winner: LCD2Build Quality and Accessories: LCD2 is relatively heavy, exuding a high-quality feel with robust construction. It comes with a military-grade carrying box and two cables - one ¼ inch and one XLR. On the other hand, the ANANDA-Stealth comes in simple packaging with no carrying box. Many users seem to dislike the two stock cables used to come with ANANDA. Mine, came with a black 3.5 cord and a ¼-inch converter, which seems fine for my needs. The winner: LCD2Comfort: I don't find the LCD2 to be overly heavy on my head. The big/fat ear pads fit perfectly, although I do feel a bit of clamping force discomfort after an hour or two. Regarding the ANANDA-Stealth, on the first day out of the box, I immediately felt pressure on my jaw, and it seemed too big. However, after a couple of days of use, I find the ANANDA much more comfortable, and I mostly don't even notice that jaw pressure, unless I intentionally pay attention or am eating something. The winner by a small margin: ANANDA-StealthSound: I was expecting to prefer the LCD2 over the Ananda, especially for the bass and dark sound signature that Audeze is known for. When I first heard the LCD2, I really liked it. However, when comparing the LCD2 to the ANANDA-Stealth back-to-back, I found that I preferred the sound of the ANANDA-Stealth much better than the LCD-2. Without EQ, the LCD2 sounded quite muddy, and the bass didn't feel as heavy as I anticipated (which was surprising, as I was hoping the LCD2 would win in this aspect). Being new to EQ, I tried some presets for Audeze and experimented with my own preferences. The LCD2 sound signature can be altered significantly, but in my opinion, the entire frequency range sounds better and more appealing on the ANANDA to me - The bass, while not like a subwoofer, is of good quality – with clean mid and high frequencies and excellent instrument separation/imaging. Music is much more enjoyable with the ANANDA-Stealth. As for soundstage, I might not understand or feel much (perhaps my ears are not that trained), but I would say the ANANDA seems more spacious and beautiful. Clear winner: ANANDA-Stealth[Music Source: Windows-PC > Spotify Premium/Apple Music/YouTube > iFi Zen DAC > Headphones]Final verdict:
If someone is deciding between these two headphones, finds both within a similar price range (mine LCD2 $700 CND - used, ANANDA-Stealth $500 CND - new on sales), and most importantly, prefers not to use EQ, then I highly recommend going with the ANANDA-Stealth without hesitation.
